5 Ways to Maximize a 2-nights trip to Baguio City 2016

1.  PLAN AHEAD. Itinerary makes it easier.
I googled the places I want us to visit.  Also asked friends who've been there.  While planning, I only included the ones that are appealing and unique.

2.  BOOK HOTEL and TRIP AHEAD.  No hassle of waiting at the bus terminal for a chance passenger.  Why chance when you make sure of it right?  There are many transient homes in Baguio but a bit far from the city.  Besides, traveling there in peak season is a challenge.
How to Process Voucher Bought Online:
1.  Print vouchers received via email ahead of time.
2. No need to stand in line. Look for a table with tarp or signage "online"
2. Approach the person-in-charge. Just in case you arrived early, still best to present vouchers in advance.
3. Present the printed voucher bought online with your ID.
4. She will advise you of the time.
5. She will also call the names when the bus is ready for loading passengers.
6. When your names are called, be ready to get into the bus.
7. Sit first on the number you purchase or reserved online.
8. When all passengers who bought online reservations are seated, before the dispatcher calls for the chance passengers, you may transfer at the vacant and more accessible seats (just ask permission from the conductor).

"I asked the lady guard's permission if we could swap seats with the couple (they sat infront) so Chesca and I can sit together. She was kind enough to permit us. So, we didn't sit at the far back. Very good!"

3.  PACK LIGHT.  Do not exhaust yourself carrying heavy backpacks.  You're there to have fun.  One backpack for Chesca and one was enough.
What To Do While Waiting for Your Trip:
*  There are fast food resto and 711 nearby.  Try to eat something to make tummy full.  That's what we did.

"Chowking had no noodles so we proceeded to 711.Mom had arrozcaldo, Chesca had champorado while I had noodles in a cup. We also had hot chocolate."

"Mom spoke to the foreigner (maybe Koreans) teens who occupied the entire table and chairs. They seemed to have finished eating and yet still seated. They were kind to give the seats to us. The 711 crew told me those teens have been there like forever. haha."

* Relax by the benches.  You may nap but be cautious to nap with awaken senses for your belongings.

* Surf your social media or play games on your phone. I was posting in my fb and of course comments and likes flooded. Love it!

4.  GET IN TOUCH WITH FRIENDS LIVING THERE.  Communicate.  They can help a lot.

5.  KNOW THE ROUTES.  It still is the Philippines.  Remembering the road and streets you've been before is easy I tell you.

12.26.2016 The three of us left home around past 11 after mom led the prayer.

Our route:
1. We took a tricycle going out to Luvers -  20 php
2.  Took a van to Cubao, Victory Liner  - 50 each x 3 = 150 php

How was the travel:
* The travel going to Victory Liner was smooth.  No traffic since it's dead hour.
* Worth chatting away. That's what mom and I did.
* Van dropped us off somewhere near the Victory Liner Bus terminal.

Chesca was nauseous.  She threw-up at the side street.  Good thing it was out.

Why Choose Victory Liner:
* They have online. You can buy there and even reserved seats for only 50 php.
* Terminal station has a lot of chairs to sit while waiting for the bus
* It has a strong wi-fi in the bus. Uploading pictures in social media was quick.
* Large & spacious well-cushioned seats. Reclining was possible too.
* AC was awesome. hahaha.
* Clean smelling air in the bus.
* Spacious baggage area.
* It left on-time 1 am. Arrived Baguio City 6 am. Exactly 5 hrs.
* We only had 2 stop-overs. 1st - Tarlac, 2nd - Sison, Pangasinan
* Good tension for the huge tires.
all aboard and so excited!!
Jackets to warm us in the cold bus on the way to Baguio

Why Not Victory Liner:
* The Victory Liner, Baguio City station was already packed with passengers off to Manila.
* Victory Liner staff didn't know what's online. Just wanted "us" to do what they know without realizing their fault.
"The staff was asking for me to provide mom's ID because I used her email address instead of mine.  I explained to her that online it was not stated.  The box below her name must mean her email add too.  She kept on saying, you can use your email add. I said, if it was stated there, of course, I could have used mine.

Can you please update your online booking?! There was no instruction like that. Passengers are misled.

To no avail, I still had to go down and get my mom's ID. I was so discouraged. I told them, Victory Liner Manila was fine.  My mom and Chesca went to the bathroom so I had to wait for them a bit. I went back up and presented her ID. So, yeah, I got our ticket"
