Le Menu Gloucester Luk Kwok Hotel, Hongkong

07.27.16  How the day went by...

"We all woke up with excitement for the last day adventure. I kept in touch with Siu Kit Lu, my highschool classmate from Cotabato City Institute (CCI) who's based there now. We agreed to meet by 11:30 am (lunchtime) that day because it was his day off (Wednesday). We should have met last night but we didn't make it on time back to the hotel.

That day, Andrei and his family prepared themselves earlier than us. hahaha. They visited us in the room. I took a bath and since my back pack's ready it was quick.

We headed to meet Kit at the Exit A before going out, Wan Chai MTR Station.Andrei led our pack in walking. We passed by some stores and I saw a store selling exotic preserves. I immediately took a photo of it.As you know Chinese people like to eat exotic foods. That made me think - what about you? What exotic animal have you eaten so far? I don't choose to eat one. hahaha.

exotic preserved animals..can't really name any except that hornlike
We arrived there quite early. Mom and I made sure that's the only stairs going out.  We noticed that people are prohibited to stay longer there.  Thus, we walked around.  We went up the overpass and from there did a little buying.  Vanessa bought an umbrella. We returned to the post nearby elevator.  I took pictures and sent it to Siu Kit via Ness's cellphone because mine couldn't connect to wifi.  A little later, Kit came in bright pink polo shirt which actually looked good on him.  We kissed on each other cheeks. He kissed my mom's hand (a way of respect for us Filipinos) and hugged Andrei.
Off to Wanchai MTR Station

Walking down HK street from our hotel going to Wanchai MTR Station
We walked towards Gloucester Luk Kwok Hotel at 1/F, Gloucester Luk Kwok, 72 Gloucester Rd, Wanchai. He took us there for a Le Menu fine buffet lunch treat which was around HK$201-400. It's An elegant dining outlet features superb Continental and Oriental cuisine including A La Carte Menu, buffets set meals and snacks.  Thank you so much Kit! Your heart is so big.  May God bless you more!"

Who is Siu Kit Lu?
I remember, when mom visited him there last 4 years ago, he also took mom and her company to a dinner buffet. Siu Kit's now a manager of Public Finance Bank. He's married with 2 kids. It's such a good feeling to have spent high school with someone as him.  He stayed humble as ever. He played the varsity basketball in highschool with my brother Andrei, so they sat beside together. We had many stories to tell and he was so sweet to the kids. My mom liked him a lot. Not to mention, the food was perfect.

Experience it the 5-star way:
Review :  Five Star too!
1. The ambience is so elegantly clean and classic. Chandeliers and furnitures glisten. Tables are huge and rectangular. Decors and windows are well-wiped too. Felt so royale while dining-in.

2.  Buffet table set-up by the side were properly arranged by menu section.

Guess what's by the door entrance? The desserts. hahaha.  I think it's placed for a marketing purpose. Seeing Hagen Dasz ice creams of different flavors, cakes, and sweets would be tempting. Cakes were cut in smaller triangular size enough to sweeten appetite. Crembulet sweets were also placed in smaller bowls.  Petite sweets looked so nice. Although you can't scoop the ice cream yourself, the staff who does it for you scoops-in a bigger size (the ice cream scoop way).  Plus you can always come back for another cone anyway.

By the far end of the buffet is the various meat menu and sushi section. It was my first time to see a lamb steak, so I got one.

Next is the carbohydrates section. Rice cooked differently and some noodles. The kids loved the fried rice, as always.

Next was the seafood section. Oh lobster and oyster, you made my day.

Next was the various makki.  How I loved that day! hahaha.

By the left mid section before the entrance was the cold cut section with choices of dips and greens to add flavor in it.

By the right mid section before the entrance was the green and other salad bar of toppings of your choice. Wow!  I love salad.

Close by was the beverage section.  Overflowing juices and softdrinks. You bet, you can drink and taste all.

3.  Everytime you're done eating on a plate, a crew takes it away.  So you can to get used to it.  hahaha. Eat what's on your plate.  No need to mess on your plate with different food on it.

4.  Table kits were neatly placed and packed. So cute. I love the toothpicks. Took some in the bag for braces purposes. hahaha.

5.  People eat quietly. hahaha. Though they conversed with one another, it's so obvious, they're educated and classy.

6.  The bathroom was a wow.  hahaha.

7.  The wine section was a wow too.  Don't know much about liquors but tell you, the cellar was awesome.
My first buffet plate (sushi, baked oyster, makki, lobster, lamb steak, fried rice, lettuce, fish fillet, ham, pansit)

My dessert plate (choco, blue berry, strawberry cakes and leche flan)
