The next day, we met early and had a convoy. Every one was pumped-up. I drove with Mark Tan.Not everyone present during dinner joined us (Bailallie, Cherrie Dawn, Blesilda and Haron).Charlotte and Alex Lu was with us too. It was so fun seeing us all grown-up. hahaha. High school years seemed to have passed by so fast.

We fetched Albert because he had to leave and park his car.  He drove with Clint's together with Em, Siukit, Sinhua and his son. We took the roro. Finally, we checked-in at Chemas by the Sea Resort.

What a beauty! My heart fell! I love the sea!

CHEMA'S BY THE SEA RESORT SECRETS

1.  THE FOOD.

The preparation committee discussed about the food.  We placed our order and after 30 minutes waiting, we had a feast!  Yes! BRUNCH by the sea!  Fabulous! Delicioso!

Look at us!  We were famished. Who would not be?  Here's what I have to say about the food:

1.  The longganisa was nice.  The meat extender was not tasty.  But I wished it was deep fried.

2.  I love the sinigang.  The sourness was just in the middle.

3.  The garlic rice needed more garlic. hahaha.

4.  The tokwa't baboy was just average.  The tofu was cooked well but the pork needed to be softer.

Overall, it was good.  Our tummies were full.

2.  CLEANLINESS.  The outside landscape was great.  Grasses were well-manicured and tidy.  Bushes and trees are green.

Rooms and Cottages are clean.  Beddings and Linens are well-pressed and white.  Smelled clean too.

Comfort room tiles brushed well.  It was not slippery.

Aircon worked so well.  Loved it.  No mosquitos around.

Lights all worked especially the lamp beside the table.

Concrete slabs leading to cottages are also clean and not slippery.

Walkways are beautifully covered by a trellis of bougainvillas plants.

We couldn't contain our joy plunging in it.

The water was very clear.  No trash nor sea weed by the shore.  It was so fun.

The talcum-fine sand so powdery white.  Walking on it was great.  No rocks nor corals to step on.

Environment is well taken care of.  Amazing!

3.  PRICE.  It was affordable.  You can book for a DAY SWIM your budget can afford.  Where will you get such package?

It actually got 8.3 score at Agoda out of 10.  What I like about Agoda is you can book and cancel it.  You can also Pay Later!  Download the App Now!

4.  LOCATION.  It is a 6,000 square meters prime lot. 20 minutes away from the Davao International Airport and a 10 minute boat ride from the city proper.

Walking distance from the resort.  How cool was that.  If you don't want the infinity pool, which uses water from the beach, you can swim in the sea so freely.  During our time, we were just the only guests.  It felt like we owned it.  No one to share.  It was so private.

We witnessed the perfect sunset beach.  We could hear the splashes of the waves.  The air smelled salty and clean.  Such a bliss!

You can also see from afar Davao Gulf, Davao City and Mount Apo in the backdrop.

5.  FRIENDLY AND COMPETENT STAFF.
They knew what to do.  They responded to our requests so quickly. They are always smiling.  You can easily approach them.

They even assisted us with the photo shoot. hahaha

chilling by the beach

Trips like that made me come back to the place I once belonged, Mindanao. Socializing is very important.  It keeps you connected to LIFE. Learning from our past experiences teaches us that LIFE is like a journey...so many chapters and pages.  We are empowered how to write and remember each memory. I made this blog 4 years after and couldn't help smiling. Who says getting older is numeric?  For me it is how you hold the essence of LIFE in your heart and mind.

So if you're wondering of where to spend vacation in Davao City, try Samal beach.  There are good resorts there. We chose Chema's by the Sea because it was private. It was just us there that time so we had a good free time.

I would like to give special mention to Siu Kit Lu, Charlotte Lu and Emerline Brendia Albano who added some more money for the reunion. You guys rock!
