What comes to your mind when you hear the word Antipolo? Visiting this place from time to time leaves only one impression to me ~ feels like coming home to province.
Named after the "tipolo" (breadfruit) tree (Artocarpus Blancoi) which is abundant in that area. It is officially as the City of Antipolo, a province in Rizal, located 236 kilometers (16 mi) east of Manila, northern half of Rizal province, close to its meridional center. Found in the slopes of Sierra Madre Mountain Range. It is the provincial capital of Rizal, the most populous in CALABARZON region and the 7th most populous city in the Philippines.
It is popular for its pilgrimage site. The Marian image of the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage or the Virgin of Antipolo, which was brought in from Mexico in 1626 and enshrined in the Antipolo Cathedral since Spanish colonial era. People trek to its shrine on the eves of Good Friday and May 1. The most notable of these pilgrims starts the trek from the Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene (Quiapo Church) in Manila.
On March 14, 2011, Pres. Benigno Aquino declared it as the "highly-urbanized city" but still needs to be ratified in a plebiscite.
Again on May 10, 2013 that feeling came to life. hahaha. Thank goodness. I was able to relax and just be with nature. City life can be toxic sometimes. So our Team Rom Royce had a soulful overnight team building at Skyscraper Private Resort. We all met at the lobby of Net Plaza. Mom had to bring Chesca there. She finally met Thea,Kath's (my very good friend) daughter. We hitched with Caleb. In the suv were UM Rommel (shotgun), Kathryn, Bianca, Allen (back seat), Kath, Thea, Chesca and I (mid seat). Chesca and Thea were so hyper singing Pusong Bato together. They really entertained us. Good job girls!

"After we ate dinner rested and chit chatted with some team mates. Others sang like there's no tomorrow. Besides, we were so far from the neighborhood. I sang Rihanna' song "Unfaithful" like a victim. hahaha. The houses were afar so maybe they didn't mind although the resort had a curfew time. Then, Kath and I, with our kids prepared ourselves to dip in the pool. Yes, bath time...i mean swimming time for the kids. Chesca and Thea got along well like Kath and I. So that was extended friendship, huh?! How we loved seeing them happy together."

"In the morning, Tin slipped on the kitchen and fell on her lower back, she even cried. So we assisted in the cooking of our breakfast. I massaged her lower back with katinko, my ever ready ointment. Antipolo in the morning has always been a refreshing view. Look at these pictures I took."

"After breakfast we took photos as much as we can. Grace and took the milk fish home. hahaha. It was a fun overnight."

"So we hitched again with Caleb. UM Rommel and I dropped-off at Cubao and there Chesca and I took the taxi going home. She fell on a nap being tired. Thank goodness we arrived home safe."
That night I've learned many new things about my team mate. We all have our own struggles and decisions in life. I admire Caleb's loyalty to her wife and family. His love story is one-of-a-kind. He joined the NGO volunteer group so he can spend more time with his wife (courtship). They both love to help people and that forged their relationship. I hope someday, I'll meet a man who's hearts passion is same as mine.
One thing I realized was team building ain't tiring at all especially if the one you love is with you.
