3 Reasons Why Ladies Go to Ladies Market, Mong Kok, Kowloon

Are you into fashion?  Or Business?

1.  SELECTION.  It's literally WIDE.  With over 100 stalls of bargain stalls you can find the LATEST & UPDATED styles. Newly launched items in the market of whatever section like garment, fashion, jewelry, accessories, watches, cosmetics, bags, home furnishings, CD's, gifts and other trinkets for women of ALL AGES are available.   But still sell classic styles like Chinese dresses for kids and t-shirts for tourists.

Just to share with you an experience.

On our way to Mong Kok, in the MTR, we sat beside a woman, whom we got to talk to a little.  She shared with us that she and her hubby (the one standing in front of us) go to Hongkong and shop there.  They go to Ladies Market too. They export them home (Philippines) and sell them there.   They have a stall in Divisoria.  According to the hubby (who joined our short chat), everything is in Hong Kong and also in the Philippines because of businessmen like them.  Buying them in bulk is cheaper.

So, if you are business-minded, this is the perfect place to buy wholesale.  If you want to sell updated and state-of-the-art merchandise, you certainly would be proud buying them from Hong Kong.

Never set aside your own happiness.  So, after we went to Sneakers Street, we walked through further north at Ladies Market to find that thing to pamper us "ladies"

While walking, I can't help comparing the place like the ones back home - Divisoria.  Well, I guess, it's a market-shop thingy. hahaha.

2.  NEW FOOD TO TRY.  After a lot of walking and shopping, what comes next?  Hungry tummies.

At Ladies Market, you can EAT something NEW!  No need to actually visit the country.

Among the top rate and beverage outlets along the market to try something you haven't tried before.

Seam Eett Taiwan Noodles and Kazan Seki Japanse Noodles - At #2 and #2A on Tong Choi Street give you two entirely different interpretation of what Asian noodles should be!  Try either, or try both!

Our Restaurant - This great Turkish small shop located at #1 on the street offers a range of middle eastern delights all from very reasonable prices.

Satay King - Get the best Indonesia style meet skewers, and all the dishes that go with them, at #24 Tong Choi is this classic Asian restaurant.
3.  LOCATION.  It's easy to find.  In fact, we came from Sneakers Street and just walked thru further north and there we were!

  1. Alight from the train when you arrive at Mong Kong MTR station
  2. Take the escalator up to the concourse
  3. Follow signs for exit E
  4. Beep out of the station using your Octopus or single use ticket
  5. Take the pictured escalator up at Exit E - Bank Centre
  6. At the top, turn towards E2 and walk up the stairs.
This is not an accessible exit.
  7. At street level walk forward, directly away from the station.
  8. After 90 meters you will be at the junction with Tong Choi Street
  9. You have arrived at Ladies' Market!

Drop off at MTR Mong Kok Station. Exit E2.
Walk along Nelson Street for two blocks

Or Take the Bus 1, 1A, 2, 6, 9 from Tsim Sha Tsui Star Ferry Pier and get-off at Nelson Street

Mom got some money exchange. We also bought ref magnets and keychains for souvenirs at home. Sales ladies were smart to offer high price at first but then after I kinda walk away, they would offer a cheaper price. I got the Hongkong ref magnets 6 for $HKD30. We also bought usb with characters 3 for $HKD100.

I was confused of what I wanted to buy for my budget due to the many different stuffs I saw.

It was a tiring day and night.  Last times to savor Hongkong air since we were Manila bound the next day.

What can I say about this last adventure?  PRETTY!  I like fashion but not that avid.  The reason behind is because I find signature fashion to be expensive and I never got to buy one for myself.  Not even class A's.  I go for smart fashion. Cheap fashion but elegant and colorful captures my heart.  I believe one can be beautiful without spending a lot.  Do you?

And here at Ladies Market, it's just PERFECT.
