What is Cosplay?
Cosplay. a portmanteau of "costume play" is an activity and performance art in which participants called cosplayers wear costumes and fashion accessories to represent a specific character.
Hi mommies and mommies-to-be? Do you have kids/teens who enjoy cosplay? "I do!"
This era kids/teenage personality expression has evolved into cosplay. Being able to dress-up a character you want to be must be interesting, fun and inspirational. Not to say, "pricey"
This has been my daughter's new hobby with cousin Noelle, also a teener. The entire family supports them. From costumes, company, fees, accessories, food and yes, driver and photographer too.
She had her two PAID and first ever FREE cosplay event. The two paid was at SMX Convention Center and the FREE at Ayala Malls - Manila Bay.
Paid cosplay event had varied amount depending on the class. What I got for her was the 500.00 which was the least. So when she told me the FREE event, I was even more excited. That would be a huge savings. Who wouldn't want a free cosplay event, right? On the other thought,
"What's the difference of a free cosplay event to a paid one?"
Let me share our first hand experiences and observations.
If you would ask me, I would go for the PAID event. Yes, it involved money which means budget but the event was really organized and planned. The fee was compensated anyway.
I am planning for this year to join her also dressed-up. Still thinking of the character to portray. Excited for my first cosplay as a mom.
Let me know if you have suggestions.
